LIFE LEGACY OF  FLORENCE LOUISE HEUER HORST

FLORENCE LOUISE HEUER HORST, on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 left the arms of Her loving
family to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Beloved wife of the late Walter Henry
Horst.  Devoted and loving mother of Duanne (Debra) Horst, Ronald (Cathy) Horst, Barbara
(Larry) Nicosia, Laurie (Gerald) Clark and Janine (Michael) LaBorde. Cherished grandmother
of Chip and Chad Horst, Holly Pittman, Heather Wingrave, Hope Horst, Ashleigh Harter,
Jennifer, Michael and Ryan Clark and Breanna LaBorde.  Also survived by 14 adorable
great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.  Florence was born on August 31,
1927 to the late Frank Edward Heuer and Marie Cleary Heuer. Sister of Frank Heuer, Edward
Heuer, Gloria Vinson and the late Iona Aden. She was a fomer member of Gentilly
Presbyterian Church and a current member of First Presbyterian Church of Slidell.
She was a member of the Women of the Moose for over 60 years and held the highest
nationally elected office of Grand Regent, which afforded her the opportunity to travel
extensively thoughout the United States and Canada. She was recently awarded the Lifetime
Achievement Award for her many years of service. Florence was a caring and generous wife,
mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend, who always took great pleasure in doing
for others. The family would like to thank Barbara Huete with Cannon Hospice, her
granddaughter, Hope Horst and also Dinah Henry, for their loving care and support for our
dear mother. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral
Services at HONAKER FUNERAL HOME,
1751 GAUSE Blvd. WEST (IN FOREST LAWN CEMETERY), Slidell, LA
on Monday, March 10, 2014 at 11:00 A.M.
Interment in FOREST LAWN CEMETERY.
Visitation on Monday after 9:00 A.M. until funeral time.
Donations to the American Cancer Society or the First Presbyterian Church of
Slidell, preferred, in lieu of flowers.
The family requested Slidell Chapter 1564 Past Deputies
to perform The Chapel Funeral Ceremony
